Campgrounds along the Gulf of Mexico

Has anyone visited any campgrounds along the gulf of mexico that are nice and close to the beach. Wife wants to take a road trip with the camper for vacation with next summer. I was just seeing if there is any stand out from others along the coast. We are trying to find a place on the northern coast.

We just spent almost two weeks in the panhandle. Grayton Beach SP near Seaside has full hookups and it's own beach. If you want a little more action, Henderson Beach SP is right in the middle of Destin, water and electric only. Both offer nice private sites.

Look at Topsail Reserve State Park on route 30A just east of Destin. it is our very best favorite in the Fl Panhandle.

Large paved private sites with full hook ups.

Along with all of those mentioned above, you may want to check out St Andrew S.P, Fl. and also Gulf Shores S.P in Alabama. My favorite is Top Sail SP.

We went to destin florida this summer and spent a week at http://campgulf.com/ it is a little pricey but you camp on the beach and has full hookups and a private beach.

We love St George Island State Park, it is just south of Apalachicola has a great beach, 20 foot tall sand dunes a great beach and a campground in a pine forest.... plus great seafood nearby. And wait until you see the stars. This is one of our favorites!! Another fun one is Fort DeSoto near Tampa, but it is hard to get a reservation there, you camp right on the water on most sites
