Camping in Cincinnati in April?

My wife and I are going to a conference in Cincinnati in the middle of April. Does anyone know of/recommend campgrounds that are open then?

Any idea on the price for then? It says regular prices will be in effect but I couldn’t find it listed anywhere.

I went through the reservation process at Hamilton County Parks and came up with $343 for a 50amp, pull through site for a week, April 9th through April 16th. They do offer a senior discount off that.

Maybe there are in-state or membership discounts, or I did something wrong. To me, $343 for a week is a long way from 'reasonable'.

Maybe it’s a premium on the pull-thru. In June 2015, we went there at a back-in site and it was $276.00 for 7 nights ($39.43/night).

I don’t qualify for a senior discount.

$343/week is $49/night. That’s the very upper end of what I shoot for staying. But not unreasonable (especially being so close to a city/urban area).

Well I will say this...I grew up near that park and it is a very nice park. However, its not that nice. $50/night. At that price shop a KOA.

re

Indian Springs campground, North Bend Ohio, about 20 minutes from downtown Cinci. Stayed there about 6 months ago, owners very nice. I don't remember what I paid but I'm sure it was reasonable.

Just FYI, I was curious and checked. For Winton Woods, a back-in site from 4/1 - 4/8 is $273 for the week. Looks like the pull-thru is the extra $10/night cost at $343 for the same week.

The back-in sites were easy to get into. Plenty of road to back in easily.

Here was our site:

Here's a picture of the road, so you can see its width:

The pull-thrus were nice, though. This is the only picture I seem to have that shows them.

I've stayed at East Fork State Park in April. Rates around $29 per night.

Where is your conference in Cincy? That could make a big difference on where to stay.

Winton woods would be an easy commute to downtown Cincy. Staying North and West would be a good idea. Have fun in the Queen City.

Best, I remember..those pull thrus at Winton Woods were full hook ups..and the back in that we stayed in this past June ,for the National Square convention (also at Duke Energy) were electric only.. Very pretty spots and we'd stay again.. But check the power voltage on your site as some of the Camper's in our loop the voltage was too low.. ours was 120.. but one guys was 92.. and another's was 102.. glad we have Progressive Industries EMS ..energy Mgt. System .. always check your power before even leveling or chocking!
