Camping Recommendation for Arkansas
We are looking to escape the Great White North about mid March (from MN) and head for Arkansas. What would be your recommendations for camping? We prefer quiet and more secluded places. We dry camp mostly. Like to hike and kayak. Some bicycling. Don't need lots of amenities; would rather be rustic. If you have ideas, please let me know. Thanks!
(Already looked at some of the discussion in Louisana Arkansas thread)

last year we stayed at Lake Catherine SP in the Hot Springs area. Very nice and clean park, hiking was awesome. Also went to the Garvin Gardens botanical garden.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the following NFS campgrounds in Ozark National Forest?
White Rock
Shores Lake
Cove Lake
Horsehead Lake
Any comments appreciated. And thank you for the State Park recommendation. Any other feedback welcome. If it is too darn cold, we might want electric hookup to run the furnace.

We spent our Honey Moon in Eureaka Springs and it is a fantastic area. Unfortunatly we did not camp so i can not tell you about any campgrounds. We stayed at Bonny Brook Farm on Misty Mountain, it was an excellent place.
you can fish the white river, hike, bike, canoe, you name it. or just relax and see hte town, great shops and restuarants.

Shady Lake...really rustic but pretty area. Petit Jean....really pretty. Kirby Landing (Lake Greeson) really nice lots and really pretty lake, Wooly Hollow above Conway. And...the RV Park near the Diamond Mine near Murphreesboro is reopening in the spring with all new improved sites.

Keep the reviews coming; very much appreciated. The sad part is, we will have to re-winterize our trailer to bring it back home!!
