We have been up and down the Alcan 3 times, Same 2004 Coachman motorhome, 3 chipped windshields and a few stone chips in the hood, We have not had any mechanical problems. Thank goodness. Always prep the MH well before our trips. The MH is still in very good condition, 84,300 miles We get people who ask what year it is and are amazed its a 2004. Just sold it it a short time back. It still on the road and the folks who bought it from us love it. We now have a 2014 3010DS it has also been up the Alcon. Yes another chipped windshield. We are planning on heading back there is 2019. GO! ENJOY! It is a marvelous place. Can't wait to get back.

Has anyone addressed the use of ATVs in Alaska or taken their ATVs along with them. We travel with ours quite a bit and would like to know if there are ample areas for their use and do we have only designated trails to ride on. I looked up the Alaska ATV Regulation requirements and they are very reasonable. Just wondering if we would benefit by taking them or not. I didn't look up the requirements for Canada and for that matter if they are frowned upon there we would just leave them in the toyhauler until we find where they could be used.

I have read several travel blogs where ATV'ing is very popular in AK (don't know about CA). We will be taking our electric bikes for local transportation (grocery runs & sightseeing). If possible, you may want to consider getting your ATVs "street Legal" then there would not be a problem wherever you are.

We were in Alaska in 2014 and will be going back with the group in 2018. ATVs are used a lot outside of the major cities. They are everywhere in the smaller towns and out in the bush. There is an "ATV path" alongside most country roads and you would believe that all of the old cycles, three and four wheelers have gone there to die. It is hard to believe that some of them are still running. However, you must be careful. There are some unusual fish and game protection laws. You may get a ticket for crossing a small stream, if it has salmon in it.
