Casino Overnighting

Found a website that list RV friendly casinos. I'll be travel west in a month and was thinking it might be interesting to overnight at a few casinos while on the trip. Was wondering if anyone has done this and what your opinion is? Any issues, safety etc...
thanks in advance.

We've done it a number of times, at casinos out West.
No issues or concerns.
Prefer it to Walmats.

yea, I'm more than happy to contribute, my goal is not to save an overnight fee but just to have the convenience of the food, leave the dog in the camper, (depending on temp) and never have to unhook.

We have stayed several nights at Indian casinos in Or. and Ca. We used to stay in casino lots in Lake Tahoe but I called several last month and none of them allow over nights now unless you are a hotel guest, then you can park in the lot until you check out. Their loss.

Agree it's to their advantage to let you, even more so than Walmart.

We did it at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut a few years ago, it is a big parking lot and you do not need to unhook. Security comes around and you pre fill out the permit application and hand it to them and they give you the permit to put in the window. They have a shuttle that runs about every 10 or 15 minutes that will pick you up and take you to the casino. We left the dogs in the camper and went in and ate and spent the night enjoying ourselves before it was time to go back and rest up. I know there are a couple videos on You Tube showing it as well. This is back when we had our Eagle.

Thank you, I also have a dog and have been slowly getting him used to being alone in the trailer. At first he didn't seem to want to have anything to do with it but I think he is getting better. He's very good about leaving him at home by himself so I would think he can get used to the trailer also.

We were not sure how the 2 of them would react either but we had their beds and toys to make them feel at home and we had no problems with them. We had to put the oldest one down last year 2 weeks before our trip to Michigan and was not sure how he would handle being by himself but it went off without any issues. We made sure to break our day up enough so we were back in about 4-5 hours.

That's good to hear, that's exactly what I'm planning next month. Federal parks don't allow dogs on trails, , and I'll have to leave the dog for maybe 6 hour. Not sure, he's got a good bladder and very well house trained but I hate to push him, especially in a new environment. But my only other choice is to board him overnight which is pretty stressful on him. He's only 8 lbs, I think I could tuck him in my jacket and no one would notice him, ha.

we were hiking back a trail in the smokies last year and saw a women carrying a little dog in her arms. a Ranger was right behind us and started talking to her. Not sure what she said to justify it, but we distintly heard the ranger say, " I know you are special, but..." Its hard to walk uphill when you are laughing

Please for your sake, the dogs and others don't bring your dog on the trail. Its a safety issue with wild animals.

My dog is small enough to carry so animal safety is not an issue but I do tend to respect the rules so I probably won't take him. It's a really problem for me as I don't want to board him for three weeks, I don't want to leave him in the trailer for 8 hrs so I've got to work it out.

We have stayed several times a the Red Shoes RV Park at the casino near Kinder, LA. Great park, cost dependent upon how many points you collect playing in the casino. The RV park at the casino in Marksville, LA is very good also.

We stay at Winstar Casino regularly which is right across the Texas border for a great little get away. They have a club you can join when you check in and they give you one free night and then a good discount on the other nights.

Several times we've heard this while chatting with folks while we walked our dogs;

Thought it was great getting the free night so we went up to the casino for dinner and some gambling, I lost about $400.00 in the casino. So much for the free parking.
