Was going to Arcadia National Park in Maine for our last trip of the season. But guess I will start getting the camper ready for the harsh Canadian winter.

Yes, we had hoped to spend 5 nites at Big South Fork National Recreation Area.
Now we'll have to go to a state park in the other direction.

Not a total lost weekend but it's hard for us to get that many days off this
time of year and when we do we want to go somewhere we wouldn't
go for a 2 day weekend.

Bummer!!

We were given 48 hours to vacate the COE park we are currently at. We have until 8PM Wednesday to leave. Anyone who had reservations at the park won't be allowed in today.

Heard a story that Congress is already looking at getting money for the parks so they can stay open.

We were at Land Between the Lakes Piney campground in TN with about 10 other campers, expecting about 20 more by the weekend. We were told today that we had to be out by noon on Wednesday. We all migrated about 5 miles down the road to the KOA. Actually, it is very nice. It was a private campground and recently changed owners and became a KOA. They are most accommodating and gave us a nice group discount. It is by Paris, TN. So this shutdown was a positive experience for our group.

Line item Bills for the National Parks and for the Veterans, so no service stops.

Is the dumping station still open. As long as there's politicians, I guess it is.

If there's politicians around, it's probably full or backed up and overflowing.

Had our last COE trip was two weeks ago, rest of season (14 more nights) will be in private campgrounds.

Maybe the spoiled brats will get over their tantrum soon.

We have 4 nights @ Indian Boundary in Tellico TN starting the 10th. Washington had better get this crap fixed. Keep government closed, open up the parks! At least they generate some revenue.

We have reservations for Friday at a COE campground. Husband called today. They have orders to close Thursday unless something changes between now and then. Maybe if Washington gets it together, we'll still get to go and not have wasted vacation days.
We've had enough obstacles getting this trip in with 2 teenagers in 2 different high schools, football game, band competition, the Fair and Apple Festival weekend.
Thanks Washington!
