There is some great riding in the area besides the Dragon. I used to ride it before it became a tourist attraction. Check out some of the side roads in the Fontana Dam area while you are there.

Ride safe and don't try to race the sport bikes through Deal's Gap.

We live in N. Ga.. about an hour away from Tail of the Dragon. We call this "God's Country for motorcycling riding.

We will be there for a week so the plan is to ride a lot. We are doing this trip and skipping Sturgis this year. We typically put about a 1000 miles on the bike at Sturgis and we plan to do the same in that area. I am hoping the sport bikes won't be too bad. I don't try to keep up with them . I own a cruiser for a cruise
