Destin area destinations

We are looking to go to destin/ gulf shores area for almost 2 weeks over Xmas break. Does anyone have any f/u campground recommendations in this area? Seems to be a lot of them on my Allstays app. Looking for someone who has some experience in this area.

Topsail SP is an excellent campground...about 20min east of the popular Destin tourist area, quiet but has the necessary conveniences nearby for groceries, etc..

My first choice in the Destin/Santa Rosa Beach area is Topsail if you can get a reservation, it books up really fast. Some times of the year you have to make reservations 11 months in advance. In the Gulf Shores area, Gulf State Park with 496 sites with full hook up is good. This time of year they allow snow birds to book about 250 sites for the winter, so advance reservations here is needed. You better make plans ASAP.

I just got back from both locations recently.

Topsail is the best!!!!! Heading there Nov 15 for our daughters 12th bday. Reservations can be tough but just keep your eye on it. They also have walk-in sites available that are not bad.

Its been 8 years since I've been in the area, but there is a Henderson Beach state park in Destin, and Rocky Point (or something) a little ways north. Don't remember if it has full hook-up or not but it was considerably less than half the cost of the coast campgrounds. Minus at the time was 2 buck charge to cross the causeway to Destin.
