Favorite RV trip?

We need some direction in figuring out where we want to go. We keep looking at stuff but nothing is "speaking" to us! So, I ask you, what is your favorite rv trip that meets (or nearly meets the specifications below)?

1. We have 9-11 days
2. Would like it to be within 8-10 hours of either Memphis, TN or Kansas City, MO
3. Not located in the Southeast
4. Good for Spring travel (late April)

One of our favorite trips was traveling up through PA and spending time in Amish country and then heading upstate NY

Bourbon Trail in KY? Or any of the wine trails in the areas around that. Southern Illinois has the Shawnee Wine Trail which could be combined with this.

Nashville,TN. Look at Nashville Shores Campground. On an huge lake with many waterfront sites. Very large water park, marina, boat rentals, restaurant, and a shuttle that takes you downtown and picks you up. Plenty to see and do in Nashville.

Need more info. What are you looking for in things to do? Prefer a state/federal/county park or a private? Rig length? Kids/pets? Many on here can help, we just need to know your preferences. Where ever you go, relax and enjoy!

We like either natural scenery or cities. Prefer a state park (or similar) but will stay in a private campground if necessary. Dogs. RV is TT 30ft.

This was actually similar to our first choice but we don't have enough time to do it the way we'd want to.

Nashville is kinda, sorta on our list due to the fact that we have family there and have a (free) place to park the rv.

From Kansas City, we went to Colorado Springs. I don't know how 6000' would treat you in April, though. If you're driving out I-70, stopping at Monument Rocks for a couple of hours would be a fun thing to do. We stayed for an overnight in Goodland, KS and drove to it.

The other place that we LOVED was Moab, UT. But that's over your 8-10 hour drive @ 1,000 miles from Kansas City.

I haven't been to too many other places.

But, April. Is snow still a concern at that point?

After we leave MO, we will be going to CO and UT.

I'll look into it. We've actually considered it before but I totally forgot about it.

ETA: I just figured out this fancy multi-quote feature

We spent 87 days out over Christmas to March but the best trip was our first trip into Maine and upper northeast two years ago with the CC 36 CKTS. We spent 65 days from Maine thru upper New York and down to Goshen for FROG.

Favorite RV trip?

There are a couple of nice state parks within 30 minutes or so from Gettysburg. Pine Grove Furnace, and Calidonia. Calidonia has two different campgrounds. We like Horsack run ourselves for Caledonia.

Pine Grove is 30 minutes and Calidonia is 20 minutes from gettysburg.

French creek state park is an hour away from Lancaster and Philadelphia.

I have been to all those parks very nice.

We will actually be at French Creek the last weekend of this month🎉

I transferred from Denver to Germany in 1982. Vacationed at my Dad's in northern California. Left Denver on May 14th in the biggest late Spring snowstorm I've ever seen. I-70 was already closed, so we headed up I-25 to Wyoming, and got stuck at a truck stop for a few hours before I-80 reopened to traffic headed west, and even then, it was 25 mph following a Highway Patrol vehicle. By the next day, in Utah, you would never have known the storm happened.

I think we are now considering just Harpers Ferry and the UP of Michigan.

My favorite RV trip was going to Maine to go to the Arcadia National Park, but if you have a Motorhome you will need a car to see all of the park. (Low clearance on some of the Park roads).

Harpers Ferry is very nice, plus you can take a lot of nice day trips from there as well. Gettysburg is about an hour up 15, Frederick is close, same for day trips to DC, etc.
