First trek in an 8329ss from Chicago to Phoenix in February

Well we did it. We dodged the weather & left with our brand new 8329 on 2/6/14 from Chicago on our way to Phoenix. 6 days later and 1850 miles with 5 nights camping out in freezing weather...we made it. The brand new Tundra did great but more importantly, the nights in the brand new Rockwood were very warm + comfortable. The optional fireplace/ heat exchanger really added to the comfort. With saddle sores we are elated to be in these 80+ degrees temperatures.

Glad you had a safe and enjoyable trip to the southwest. How long before you head back to the Windy City?

Vacating the Windy City

We plan on getting back to Chicago in May in time for Mothers Day. Just put our house up for sale & will be buying in the Phoenix area then spending summers in the Midwest with the Rockwood.
Having never owned one of these before, the first 100 miles were white knuckles. Especially with some snow and the 18 wheeler blow by, but after that 65 was very comfortable.
I was also surprised how warm the coach was in sub freezing weather.
