Kroger is opening one of their super stores near us soon that has gas pumps.

We patronize Kroger a lot and have never used their fuel points. I heard that their system is a bit confusing to some first time users.

What has your experience with them been?

We use the fuel points all the time

Last summer ours had 2x points all summer on Fri, Sat and Sun

During holidays they offer 4x points when you buy gift cards

Most times it is 2x points on gift card purchases - we use them to go out for dinner - go buy the gift card to Red Lobster, etc and use it

They give you 50 points for each Rx you have filled

They accumulate each month but do not rollover or combine so you use them or lose them

They can be used at Shell Stations here also

You can use up to 1000 points at a time for $1.00 off per gallon

Limit of 35 gallons of product at one time - can be used gas or diesel

So how much is a Kroger FP worth at the pump? I assume you present your Kroger Plus Card before filling up, if correct- then what happens after fill up is complete?

Does the FP discount then show up on the total amount due?

You earn 1 point per dollar spent in store / they accumulate each month

You can redeem at 100 points for 10 cents off per gallon - 700 points gives you 70 cents off per gallon, etc

At the pump it will ask you if you are a plus cardholder then you scan your card

It will show how much discount you have to use - you do not have to use it all at once but the amounts are in 10 cent increments

Our local fuel center is all prepay

When you scan your card it will adjust the price on your pump by the amount of your discount you are using

It prints on the receipt how much per gallon you saved

If you have no fuel points accumulated it will still give you 3 cents off per gallon every day but since my Chevy Spark only holds 9 gallons, we do not bother with the 3 cent discount and save our points to fill the gas cans and our Chevy 2500HD instead

Thanks to all - does sound easy. The new Kroger I talked about is right across the parkway from a Walmart and Murphys, so it will be easy to compare prices.
