One thing that hasn’t been mentioned about the book The Next Exit (don't know about the app) is that anything printed in Red at the exits means it’s RV friendly. I found that info very useful.

Looking at the web site (# 1 USA Interstate Exits - Hotels, Gas, Food - the Next EXIT) it seems that the App is a electronic front end to the data on the website.

The website looks very attractive over the printed book - mainly because they tout daily updates!

That can be handy...remember last month driving down I20E and seeing signs for a Love's, taking the exit and finding out that yep there is a Love's here but it will not be opening for a few months (Nice concrete pad and framing for the building though )

We use Gas Buddy and try to call ahead as we approach possible fuel stops. We asked them if we can get in/out with camper?

Next exit as a reference for truck stop locations, anything smaller is a non gaurentee I can get in/out or even have the height needed to clear.

Well....this has been quite entertaining!! I'll chime in as well....As I've progressed from a pop up to a 42' fiver I have become more sensitive to ingress/egress of fuel stops...especially since my TV is still a gasser. For my ole standby trips I already know my fuel stop options, for new trips I use every tool available, including maps and apps...I get more comfort when knowing what's ahead. I usually double check with google earth to get a good overhead view and street view and then line up my options. For those full timers..I envy you!! The DW made fun of me the other day as I had out the old fashion maps...she asked what I was doing...told her I was planning our first full time trip to the Grand Canyon..she pointed out that was a least 10yr out...so, I like to plan ahead..and dream a little

We use the Ipad app "IExit". It's for the interstates and does a great job. You can search for anything. Rest areas, pilots, flying j, diesel fuel, gas, any brand name gasoline, food, petsmart. And or plus you can search for RV friendly places. Use to have the book but got tired of buying the new book every year. Oh, my Ipad is the Ipad 3 and has Verizon wireless attached so I can search as we roll.

I just try to get on a end pump.Most all stations are larger enough for bigger rigs . The problem I find is the way cars pull up and park not even in marked spaces.

I had made my own "cheat sheet" Yup...good old fashioned pencil & paper...I listed all the Flying j / Pilot travel centers..from Florida to Michigan on I-75...worked fine for me getting diesel in the semi lanes....also ..had a record of total costs for fuel & fuel used for the entire trip.

Pilot/Flying J have a "RV Travel Guide" that lists all the locations nation wide. My issue is from 2013. I think you could find one at Camping World or you might email them and have one sent to you.
Another source is www.allstays.com and click on "maps" for the state you are interested in and then click on "truck stops".

On our trip from Indy to Fort Wilderness and back, Pilots were my worst places to fill up. Not necessarily because of pump layout, but because they were busy and congested.

I had good luck with TAs, Loves, and the miscellaneous normal gas station that had plenty of room.
