Based on your photos it I would be happy to consider camping there. I know your kids must had enjoyed it too. Traveling for some of us are about good experiences in different ways.

It really was beautiful. If I hadn't had such power issues, I would have largely called it a win and a good be accepting of the deal/amount spent.

Sadly, now I'm stuck in a crappy KOA in Lordsburg, NM for an extra night.

I have a single Trojan 27TMX. I've stayed overnight in low 40s before at a Walmart in Colorado. It definitely last longer/through the night.

I need to check the water level and will likely test it for the first time with my hydrometer.

Not sure if a mechanic explained it correctly to me but the dodge alternator would charge to fast to put a charge in them as a trickle charge. On my third set of batteries in this truck. Have not had any issues after the explanation.

Enjoy learning things as you do your journey there.

If you're planning to do wine-tasting on your trip anyway, than I'd say you stayed for free.

You could have paid a CG and done wine tasting. Instead, you just wine-tasted.

Sounds like you named two big items to consider. First the need for heat and health. Second safety, what kind of shape will you be in, the next day, for driving after having to do that midnight battery dance?

Hello! I just wanted to leave you a suggestion for when you come into Tallahassee, FL. We have two county campgrounds Coe's Landing and Williams Landing. Coe's is full hook-up and $24/night. Williams is water only (have showers and restrooms on site) and is $10/night.

The best part is that they are lakefront and always virtually empty! Beware- unless you have a small RV, you will only fit into site #1 at Williams. Both are less than about ten minutes off of I-10.

Here's a link if you're interested! https://www.leoncountyfl.gov/parks/camping.asp

Glad to hear about Harvest Hosts. We are thinking about joining.

Harvest Hosts provides a single overight. This is important on Fridays, Saturdays, and even Sundays. State parks, National parks are requiring a minimum of two nights stays. This does not work for us if we are moving along.

Harvest Hosts works with farms, wineries, and other places to offer a place to stay in your RV overnight. In almost all cases, there are no hookups. It's considered common place/expected to make a small purchase from them as a token of appreciation. This is only our second use.

It was cool. The chicks were 5 days old and then we got to see how much they grow in 2-weeks with some other chicks. They were over looking at the horses a little while ago.

After they flew kites outside. It was a good day!

Good pics of your expedition across this great country ependydad. Kids look like they're having the time of they're lives. Sometimes I wish I could pull something like what your doing off but my wife and job won't allow it.

It's a good time for the most part. As with everything, it's not all smiles and daisies. But you take the good with the bad and make the best of it.
