Heading to Galveston TX from IL just West of Chicago.

Trying to keep the TT from freezing overnight, temp right now is 11 degrees. Plan on leaving Friday morning. I will make overnight stops in Southern IL, MS and LA. Hopefully I will have some warm weather in Galveston.

Dallas and Ft. Worth areas received 3-4 inches of snow/sleet last night. It is expected to mostly melt today, Thursday. But the weather people are stating the melting snow will create ice on roadways tonight. Predicted 26 degree's tonight. Traffic is moving as I post this, but at a reduced rate of volume/speed. This condition is also in East Texas area. Try and stay as far east as you can towards Galveston.

If you need a good RV park, Dellanera is excellent and close to the beach as you can get. Just a very short walk around a fenceline and you are on the beach. This is a no frills RV park regarding swimming pools, swings, etc. All paved pads, full hook ups, laundry and small convenience store. The City of Galveston owns/operates this park. Very well priced and right off main highway in Galveston. You can easy locate it in the internet. Spaces 37-39 are as near the path to the beach as you can get. Good separation of parking spaces from neighboring RV's. ENJOY Galveston, it's interesting.
