Hitting the road - Big Trip Planned

Heading out in June from Toronto and heading to Calgary Stampede for 2nd week of July and then onto BC and Vancouver Island and the Okanogan valley will be part of that trip along with Whistler and the Rockies of course.

Next Year Ottawa for Canada's 150 BD and then Newfoundland from what everyone tells us is the nicest part of Canada by far.

The year after that back Western part of Canada up the northern way so we can see Yellowknife, NWT along with the Yukon up to Dawson City and onto Alaska and then back down to do the northern part of BC.

We are not full timers but this trip will put us on the road for six months this year.
We live in a gated retirement community.....great neighbors and no lawn maintenance. We turn off the water and gas, stop the mail and hit the road.

Did that trip two years ago. Yellowstone on the way up, Glacier on the way back. Six weeks on the road, 11,500 miles round trip from Oklahoma. It was indeed the trip of a lifetime. Canadian Rockies are spectacular. We saw more wildlife on our way through Canada than we saw in Alaska, even in Denali. Have a fantastic time!

Welp! We are loaded and ready to hit the road first thing tomorrow morning. Alaska bound out of SE Arizona. First stop Bluff, Ut and then on up through SLC and crossing into Canada at Sweetgrass. We are going to work on getting our rhythm as to how far and when to stay over another day and rest up.

Wish we did have FROG stickers.....seems several making the trip. We are in Rapid City, South Dalota now. Heading to Wyoming next week.

Looks like temps in Yellowstone may reach the 20's a couple nights....is heat on in the camper good enough or do I need to take other precautions? What about the water supply line?

Never camped in sub-freezing temps.

We will be making the trip to Alaska next year from just below Atlanta. Planning on going through Oregon and Washington on the way up. Need to be in those areas in late April. Then on up through Canada to AK. We will be watching your trip and live through your experiences. Have fun.

Just below Atlanta? We're from Griffin. If you want to follow more closely, we are keeping a blog page with photos and maybe more details than you want at the link below.

Going to watch. We are practically neighbors. We are in Jackson, and get to Griffin all the time. Have a blast.
