How tall is your rig?

TVKim- Watching: Kim's Picks- Thirteen unbelievable crashes

Yes there is an RV in the group of vehicles that try and go under a 11' 8" bridge.

So how tall is your rig, and have you had any close calls?

Our Surveyor is 8' 6" at the roofline and will easily go under a 11' + bridge. We put it in our barn that has a 10' 6" high door.

Just don't try going through a "drive-through" !!

13' 6" from the road to the top of the AC unit. Let me tell ya, we REALLY pay attention to those little bridge signs since we got this new unit. Funny thing though, my co-pilot keeps asking me " How high are we???" I travel out I-78 in PA quite a bit, and some of those get pretty close. We go to VA quite a bit, and the Bay Bridge tunnel has a limit of 13' 6". So i asked if I was gonna fit or gonna scrape, and the LEO told me just drive up, we have sensors. If you're too high we won't let you in

9'10" to the top of the AC. My radio antennae sticks up a little further, but that has plenty of "give". I feel OK with a 10'6" clearance, but start to crease the driver's seat with anything less than that.

My old unit was 10'6" at the A/C, and I think there was only one instance I had a close call, and a couple times I had to go around to avoid a low clearance. The new Georgetown is 12'1", so I'm a little more worried. I often travel through the tunnels along US 6 in Clear Creek Canyon near Golden to get to Rte. 119. The tunnels aren't marked, but signs along the route say trucks over 13' are prohibited. They don't say, however, whether there is a margin in that 13', or where that is measured, center or edge of lane. I would still be nervous going through those tunnels, but the alternative, going through Central City, is out of the way and has too much traffic.
