I was wondering what is scenic in KS I spent about nine years in Salina,KS before I saved up enough money to escape.

Keep in mind from central Kansas on to Denver the weather can change completely in just a matter of hours. When I worked construction out there I carried insulated coveralls from Sept to April, and I have worked in a t-shirt in the morning and coveralls in the afternoon.

Been on I-70 in the winter. Not a fun drive. You get above 12000 ft at one point and the road doesn't seem to be plowed very well. My choice would be Albuquerque in January and February. Not sure about the scenic thing. I was too concerned with being part of it if you get my drift
If you choose to go. all good luck.

Best to check the state websites, a lot of the passes will close during winter no matter what the weather is like at that time.
