Hi,
Agree the battleship park is worth a visit. Also old mobile. Free parking at the visitor center right off I 10. A replica of the old fort with a lot of interesting exhibits, from there it's a nice walk to old downtown. The Mobile Museum is just a short walk and also a worthwhile visit. We spent the winter a couple years ago at Bay Palms Campground, just before the bridge to Dauphin Island. Driving along Hwy. 90, visiting the old forts on both sides of the bay and the nature center(s) are all worthwhile day trips. Lots to see, enjoy

We strolled the old part of downtown. It's a little run down but it has a historic beauty about it. There is also a historic restaurant in the old downtown named "Wintzell's Oyster House". It's a lively place and you can get some historic seafood dishes there.

Damn....forgot about Wintzells. Lived there for over twenty years. I would be evicted by the locals if I still had a Mobile zip code. Only eat at the downtown locaction. They franchised and I haven't been to one that matches the original. Awesome restaurant.
