Texas takes about that long to get it to you. I'm still waiting for some around Austin or Houston.

Our campsite at American RV park just outside Albuquerque

I'll try to post some photos from our trip up into the mountains if I can tomorrow (if it'll let me post a panorama)

Thanks for posting your report. It's so refreshing to read something other than questions about weight, water heaters, tires, fan on the A/C, etc. I wish others would post about trips they take.

That $8K we saved will buy a lot of gasoline but I am with you, I had 3 Ford TD since 2002 but this 2016 250 with the 6.2 gas is a pleasure to drive. I get around 7-7.5 at best. Keep the pictures coming, enjoyable.

Arrived a little while ago in Glendale, Utah (near Zion national park, Bryce canyon, and a while from Lake Powell and the north rim of the Grand Canyon)

We were making good time, until we hit 2 sets of awful road construction along US 264 in Arizona.
Unfortunately it seems like the Navajo Nation are the worst at road construction. 30 min wait for a 1 way stretch of road led by a lead vehicle, over miles of terrible sticky tar gravel, which kicked up, chipped the paint on the truck, stuck in the tires, and the gravel piled up under camper slides etc.
I think i should file a lawsuit against the Navajo nation.

The rest of the drive along US264 was very scenic in bits, especially around Shongopovi.

Just before we arrived at Bauers Canyon RV Ranch we got a call to say that someone had given our site away earlier in the day, despite me having called earlier to confirm our 6 night reservation, so we're now stuck in a back in site, which was very awkward to get into, with construction work to repair the sewer line at the back of the site. We should be moved into our proper site in the morning, but I am NOT a happy camper

Once you get through the campsite ordeal your family is going to love this part of the trip.
