Looking for Comments on Grove KY

We have reserved a spot at Grove KY near Laurel Lake in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Can anyone who is familiar with the area provide any info? We will be coming from Natural Tunnel which is in the southern tip of Va. I understand that Hwy 58 to Hwy 25E to the park can be challenging. Is it better to just take the longer route using I-81/40 to I-75?

I have driven part of this and depending on what your rig is, might take a little longer than you realize. All depends on what you are comfortable with. Its driveable if you don't mind driving on some smaller roads at lower speeds. Other than that take the interstates.

Thanks. I don't mind smaller roads and slower speeds. It looks like 25E is four lane. I was more concerned with steep grades.

25E is a good four-lane road from I-75 to Middlesboro. We drive 58 from the tunnel in Middlesboro twice a year when we head to Bristol Motor Speedway. As mentioned it is narrow two lane sections in places but we enjoy the scenery. I do anything possible to stay off of I-75 from Berea, KY to Knoxville, TN.

Thanks! We are attending the August night race and staying at Natural Tunnel. We prefer camping away from the track. Then heading to Grove.
