Maiden Voyage

Well....here goes. About to leave for the first trip out with the new trailer. Been sitting at the house for nearly two months since I brought it home until I could get some time off work. Heading over to Lake Texana...used to be a state park, haven't been to it since it was, maybe five or six years ago. Guess we'll see what it's like as a private campground.

So far so good. The tire upgrade on the TV made a big difference from when I brought it home. Surprisingly to me, it was less affected by big trucks than my mini lite was. I'm running a curt tru track with 1000 lb bars on it. Trans temp stayed at about 182, which is where it normally was pulling nearly 3000 lbs less trailer. Mileage is about 8-9, the same as the smaller trailer and the handling is solid. I think I'm going to be happy with this combo.

If you worry about fuel mileage you have the wrong hobby, I just keep the tank full

I don't worry about it. I'm just glad adding 3000 lbs didn't make it worse, lol. I kind of figured it'd be about the same.
