Massachusetts to Michigan

Looking to visit UP of Michigan this summer, looking at the last week in July and 1st week of August . Is this a good time of year up in that area?
Will leave and travel out to New York thruway out to Buffalo, cross into Canada via the peace bridge.
Travel through that part of Canada and enter Michigan. Looking for advise of campgrounds along the way, good for 500-550 miles per day(2) day trip. Any experience on campgrounds that part of Canada ? Should I stop before crossing over?
Want to visit Travers City, Mackinaw, Mackinac Island, Silver Sands Dunes.

Looking for advise on campgrounds in those areas.
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank You

Two years ago we stayed at Mill Creek CG in Macanaw City, nice place. Had site on the water with great veiws. Then traveled to western U.P. On the way back we stopped in Traverse City and stayed at Timber Ridge C.G. Enjoy.

We travelled that route 2 years ago. We stayed at the Niagara Falls ON KOA. Nice CG and located very close to the falls if that is on your list to see. We have also stayed on the U.S. side - there are several choices there.

Our favorite spot in the UP was the south shore of Superior. Munising Tourist Park was one of several spots right on the shore. We spent a day in Mackinac and definitely plan to go back there.

Also, if it fits into your trip plans, the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn turned out to be the best part of our trip.
