Pet Peeve

Pet peeve of mine. You arrive at an RV park for the night and after checking in you politely ask about the nearest station that sells diesel fuel only to receive blank looks and no answers. REALLY?
I donít understand how a business that caters to RVís wouldnít know where their customers could fuel up their trucks or motor coaches.

Sort of makes you suspicious about what other things they have "no clue" about.

My GPS will only show filling stations which may or may not have diesel fuel. I also use the Next Exit and (my fault) my two year old copy was out of date. The diesel station it listed was closed.

No clue

We had a park a week ago or so come warn us about an upcoming storm and said there was some storm protection in their bathhouse and a big storm shelter an old motel downtown but didn't know how to get there. This worker had been at this camp for at least 2 years and maybe more and the town is a small rural town and only about 2 miles across in every direction, you would have thought he would have driven by this place sometime in this time period, we went to the bathhouse, also checked radar after getting the warning it showed the storm had weakened and already passed us.

So I can see workers not knowing about locations of things, understand it, no.

Sounds like pure "poor customer service" to me. Anyone owning/running an RV park should know where the nearest diesel can be bought - plus where RV owners can get other important locations for their customers.

One of my biggest pet peeves that has nothing to do with camping is when you take a vehicle in for wheel balancing, rotation or tire changing, the mechanic takes the chrome hubcap off and throws it down with the chrome side down and then throws the lugnuts in the cap, scratching the cap. Don't know how many times I have politely ask before they start to PLEASE don't lay the hubcaps down with the chrome side down. Sometimes they listen and sometimes we have a discussion with the shop foreman.

I know this is an old thread, but worth resurrecting.

My pet peeve: there is no "G" in Cummins!

Download Gas Buddy app. Very handy. I don't think it list hours of operation for stations, but it gives phone numbers so you could call before driving there.
