Planning trip from Saskatchewan to Mt Rushmore
Well,
We can't make the FROG camp in so we are planning a trip from Moose Jaw to Mt Rushmore, stopping in Hardin Mt for the Custers reinactment then to Mt Rushmore and returning via Bismark or Fargo ND and Minot. Just wondering if anyone has some ides of things to do along the way. We are planning on leaving the 24th of June and being home on the 4th of July. We want to stay at KOA's as much as possible as well. Also where along the way would I find a Camping world as I want to by slide toppers while we are visiting.

We were to the Black Hills in 2009. Spent a week there. Have to run now, but will get some info and possibly pictures to you in near future.

Just did a quick look on Camping World webiste.
There are no stores in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, North and South Dakota.
Your vacation travels for this trip are definitely in the wrong area for shopping at Camping World.
Sorry.

Since you will be in the area, you really, really don't want to miss the South Dakota Badlands which are about an hour or so east of Rapid City. In the other direction not too far in Wyoming is Ft. Laramie which is a (mostly) reconstructed frontier fort and because of its still remote location gives one a good feel for the isolation the early settlers and soldiers experienced.
Also, though not sure if it would be out of your way or not, a little known site that I think is worth visiting is the International Peace Garden which straddles the North Dakota/Manitoba border.

Bear Country USA: not bad, you get to drive through and see the animals
Video of when we were there and the feeding time
we went on a helicopter ride of crazy horse and mt rushmore
we saw the heli ride advertisement in Keystone but they claimed the combined weight of us was too much and had us go to the one near custard park.
i got a video somewhere..
Gotta go to Deadwood. visit the grave of Calamity Jane and Wild Bill. Downtown is a bar with the famous chair that Bill was gunned down in. the drive is awesome to.
Custard State Park - all the locals in Rapid City say its good. I didnt know about it till day we were leaving...
SD GFP | State Parks | Directory | Custer State Park
Also the tunnels on the old highway to mt rushmore are a blast to drive. I never got to...
Also rushmore has an end of day ceremony. but its more for the us residents and people who have served in the army/navy/airforce and veterans.
