Hi - We're new to RV-ing and have completed an east coast tour of Canada. Up next is a USA tour. I've discovered that apparently some states (or parks) require your sewer hose to be raised off of the ground? Do we need to worry about this? Why is this? Many thanks in advance!
Just go to Walmart and you will find sewer hose riser. Some places don't want something laying on the grass for a period of time, others it's a city or county rule.

One the sewer hose will follow better. First law of plumbing items roll down hill better. Second when the sewer hose is dragged on the ground you could tear the outer membrane and it will leak.

Many states and 100+ campgrounds, only 1 has required my sewer hose be off of the ground (Las Vegas Thousand Trails).
Otherwise, my crap has always flowed into the hole just fine without a sewer hose support. Now, I sure don't like killing grass on longer stays.

I use one, I try to place the cable coax and power cord under the riser to keep trip hazards to a minimum.
