Recent trip pitures
As KYDan requested here are a few from our most recent trip. Despite the much colder than normal temperatures for this time of year, low water levels in Lake Roosevelt, poor fishing and having to use coolers and ice as our refrigerator quit working 2 days before our trip, we had a fairly good time.
Here is our campsite on the shore of Lake Roosevelt (created by Grand Coulee dam) This is a small national park service campground which is very grassy and has lots of shade trees. We found a good spot that let the sun hit our solar panels and our satellite antenna get a signal.
A view out our door of the lake and one of the wiener dogs staring back:
The free ferry that runs across the lake. The dock is right behind the campsite about 300' away:
The girls having fun on the beach:
On our second night a huge thunder storm grew above us and lightning was lighting up the sky. We set our chairs under the awning and prepared to watch natures light show. In almost an instant the wind came up and started billowing the awning and I ran for the retract switch. We watched the news the next morning to find that a tornado had touched down only about 50 miles south of us spawned by the same storm. I also found out on this trip that a gentle 12mph wind blowing in just the right spot will cause the awning to put itself away but a sudden hurricane will not. Go figure

We need more photo's of trips like these from all who use this site. Its nice to see places we could put on our list of sites to visit. Photo's of our trips and help with problems on our rigs is what this site is all about, and welcoming new folks.

Washington is a great state. Very jealous of how close you are to everything!

Funny we say the same thing about retiring and heading east to explore your side of the country and everything in between. So much to explore and see, so little time.

Ron, our friends bought land up around Ely or Winton there in your state a few years ago and have shown us pictures of the area. We just can't wait to get up to that area and explore. Would love to take the kayaks out on some of the lakes and take it all in.

There are some great unspoiled areas up there by the Boundary Waters and you'll need that kayak or a canoe to get around . Bear Head Lake State park is a close campground to ely. The entire lake is in the park and undeveloped which makes it feel like you really far out there.

Pics
NWJeeper,
We are going to Boothbay Harbor for the weekend and will post some pics when we get back. Attached are couple pics from downeast Maine to help you look forward to coming east someday. The first pic is Port Clyde and the second is Screw Auger Falls in Gulf Hagas (Gulf Hagas is known as the Grand Canyon of Maine).
