ReserveAmerica charging Reservation Fees
Went to set up reservations for one night and ReserveAmerica is now charging $6,70 reservation fee. Sure changed my plans. Now with a reservation fee and $17.75 cancellation fee at the Florida State Parks, sure makes how we do things different. For us, We will not be making reservations for one-nighters and if we will go to Walmarts if we could not find a site for the night, so be it. Example, we are seniors in Florida and cost at Stephen Foster is $11. With a $6.70 reservation fee, we will not be making reservations for the one night stop over and if we can not get in, will go to Walmart. I am sure it will affect campground business. Also, it makes checking in more difficult and time consuming for the ranger at the park. What are they thinking. Business is better in the camping business and they try to gouge you when ever they can. $30 per night is very common for camping locations over night and we personally do everything possible to keep from paying this outrageous price just to park for a few hours to grab a few hours sleep. Walmart, PassportAmerica, and BLM all help, but no more ReserveAmerica for 1 nighters. If we are staying a week and spreading the cost the cost for the extended period of time, Maybe, but not for one nighters.
We are driving a Dodge Durango and pulling a Evergreen G269FK. We also have two Cairn Terriers. 2 Champion Generators. This year, planning on 6 months in our Evergreen visiting, California, Michigan, and Ohio. We live in Florida. Grandkids, and dogs are why we camp. Also have a Hensley Hitch which that eliminates all sway. Pricey, but worth it.
