I use RVPR often. I always read all the reviews, not just the latest ones. I look to see how many reviews are in the same ball park as far as rating. If a review looks "Scripted", it is suspect to me.

We use that site regularly and have found it to be fairly accurate. However we do search this site and others for other comments as well.

I have talked to several people and most use RVPR. I will continue looking and will post again if I find a good one.

I wish the powers-that-be here would add an RV Park Reviews sub forum under the Travel Chat section.

Honestly... I think the best is still TripAdvisor.com. Most popular review site and most place have many many reviews. I try to stay away from reviewers that have just a few posts. I look for "Top Contributors."
Hope this helps.

When planning a future trip I use RVPR as a tool to get an idea of what "others" may think of the place. What I may think is 'heaven on earth' may be 'hell on earth' to others. I try to read between the lines on what is written and look at maps to see if the park is near a hiway, railroad, factories/industrial plants. Some people are not bothered by noise but I want to be relaxed when I camp. I also pay attention to the dates the review was given. If a park hasn't had a review in a couple years, that would be a red flag for me. A park is like a golf course, if they don't maintain, it will go downhill in a hurry. If the park doesn't have a website, I bypass it because they apparently are not proud enough of their product to want to show it off.

But the short story; it's just one of the tools I use to plan trips. Not everybody sees the same thing. What's important to you may not be important to me.

RV Park Reviews

When looking for somewhere we alway use RVPR. We read reviews going back several years and also other reviews of contributors to get a feel for how they grade places. Like others, if a park hasn't had a review for a few years I tend to steer away from there. What does amuse and confuse is when a park has consistently bad reviews but experienced reviewers still go there and then moan like a drain about how bad the place was.
If I can find reviews on sites like Trip Advisor I will give that some consideration after cross checking back with RVPR. Places like Trip Advisor and even Face Book tend to have more photos that are potentially more honest than the RV Parks own website

I wish Trip Advisor had more info for RV Parks. I would be happy to review the parks where we stay. I certainly review restaurants & attractions. I appreciate the fact that the business owner can reply - whether to a positive or a negative review. I sometimes wonder on RVPR what the other side of the story is. I

I've tried creating a couple of RV Park locations for Trip Advisor but one was bounced - I was told it didn't exist - and I'm still waiting to hear back about another well established place I visit north of Spokane.

It is my understanding that the company that owns this site, (and many others) also owns RV Park reviews, I would not imagine it would be too terribly hard, software wise, to link the two together so that reviews could be posted and reviewed across both platforms and shared seamlessly.

Trip Advisor

When setting up my account for Trip Advisor, they told me Hattiesburg(my city) could not be found. THERE IS ONLY 1 HATTIESBURG IN THE WORLD! How hard is that? I am now a resident of Australia.

Well anyway, nothing is perfect.

I was beginning to wonder if anyone still used the site I was looking for campground info on the east coast & no reviews of the campgrounds were newer than 3 years old & many campgrounds were were looking at were not reviewed.

I use RVPR, read the reviews then go to google maps to get a bird's eye view of the park itself. You have to be able to read between the lines. Like stated before, some things are more important to other people. So take the reviews with a grain of salt. What is a 5 to some will be 10 to others.

I do get a kick out of some people that review the bathrooms but camp in a motorhome....funny stuff.

Join Goodsam or just buy one of their RV travel guides. They seem to do pretty good on their reviews. Been with them since the 80's and only had a couple that didn't match their ratings.

I use RVPR but as stated read between the lines, also if the reviewer has other parks they did I check them against maybe parks we have stayed at to compare what we thought of them, kind of helps gauge a little better. It's not the best and I have even had reviews rejected for a reason, not always sure why as they did not explain well but their site , their rules.

Yeah, it seems a lot like the Amazon reviews. When I look for something on Amazon, I head to the 1 start reviews first. A lot of the 4 & 5 star look like "plants" to me. Probably the same on the rv reviews.

We used RVPR on our trip up the ALCAN and touring Alaska, and found it to be a good source. I also checked other sites when I could.
