RV/Truck Routes?

I have 24ft class C. Do I need a GPS that gives me truck/RV routes or is that only really needed for the beastly Class As?

If I need one, are there any apps that show RV/truck routes or low bridges? I'd rather not spend $300 for a GPS unit when I can just use google maps on my phone. Also sounds like a GPS would interfere with my TPMS.

A gps will not interfere with your tpms. the height of your rig will determine if you need to use special routing. Most Class Cs are not that tall

You don't need one just for RV's imo. You don't need to follow truck routes as you are not a truck for commercial purposes.

I've never heard of a GPS interfering with TPMS. Where did you hear this?

I couldn't be bothered to use a phone as a GPS as the screen is waaaaaaaay too small. You're better off to use a tablet.

I have a Rand McNally truck GPS which I still have from my OTR days. Big screen, easy to read. I know where I'm going, but use it to count down the time and miles.

Mine is ~11.5ft (including the height of the A/C and antenna and probably a couple of extra inches for good measure.

I'm used to the phone and it's the 7+ so it's not that small.

I'e heard the GPS interference with TPMS on several comments in posts here and on other forums.

I also have the RV760. but all GPS are Receivers not Transmitters, no way it would interfere with a TPMS

Not always tru when weight limits are in place they are in place for all vehicles be it commercial or private. In fact more communities are cracking down on vehcile size even if they are for private use

I had the same worries until someone told me to buy a Rand McNally Motor Carriers road atlas. It gives you updated restricted routes, low clearance and city to city mileage charts. Got mine from an ebay seller for less than $10.00, 2017 edition.
