september PHOTO contest !

OK this is it .

I am holding a by the month camping photo contest.

For the month of september the contest is best photo judged BY ME . ( I pick the category as well)

In the october monthly contest I will mix it up a little and pick the top ten and then do a 10 picture poll and you the users get to vote on BEST photo.

After october if you guys enjoy doing this I will start again in the spring .

This month there are 3 prizes for the winner !

RULES ( you are on your honor to follow )

1) One submission per person per month .
2) please use a photo you took during the month of which the contest is being held . (IE if its september contest then take the picture in September ( not one from 3 years ago in september .)
3) All submissions should be posted in the "month" contest only thread.
4) all questions comments and concerns should be posted on this thread .
5) I will pick the topic so please STICK to the topic only !
6) Photos must be on topic and meet the "good taste" test or they will be deleted; include a very brief description of the photo. (IE who what where when)
8) contest will end 2 days before the end of the month! any photos after will not be judged. contest will start the day I post the topic!

If you have any suggestions or comments to help with the rules please let me know if I have missed something.

Rules subject to change as IM sure something will arise .

PLEASE have fun with this .

The prize swag for this month will be announced tomorrow when I announce the photo topic for September 2012 .

New there would have to be a poll involved somewhere in a Turbo contest.I'm not much of a photographer but I'll have to give it a shot.Looking forward to it.

In the short time I've been here, I've noticed there is certainly no lack of talented photographers around here.
But unless I've missed it (always a possibility) there is no thread specifically for folks to discuss tips, tricks, various lenses and gadgets and, of course, for Canon and Nikon owners to bash each other.
Would such a thread be worth starting ?

Announcement of photo subject / topic will be later today .

I have also been asked to change the user submissions to ( do it yourself) .
Meaning users will post there own submissions along with a description of photo.
When I post picture topic I will have more on that.

I have A LOT OF GREAT topics for future contests if everyone has a good time with this.

The Moderators will be watching this thread carefully to make sure that the posting rules OF THE CONTEST are followed and will be editing or deleting posts that do not comply with Ron's stated purpose.

Please try to stay on track.
Nothing in that thread except the picture with description.
The thread will be "stuck" until the contest is over; then the new one (if there is one) will be stuck.

I also suggest that Ron start a "Contest Discussion" thread so folks can comment on the contest without garbaging up the actual photo thread.

Sizing of the photos will be done automatically by the forum software so no special photo editing computer talents will be required.

I like the idea and hope it works out.
