Time needed for trip to Alaska

The trip to Alaska is big on our bucket list and I enjoy following the threads about travelling to Alaska. I'm looking for advise and experiences of anyone that has made that trip.

We have some friends that want to make the trip and would go if we went with them. They want to go before they have to give up RV traveling. So I am asking; What would be the minimal amount of time needed to travel to Alaska from the MT/Canadian border and back pulling a 5th wheel? I don't want to drive to Fairbanks and back just to say we made the trip. I've seen that some have made the trip in 6 wks. Is that enough time?

Someday we will make this trip again at our leisure but at this time we still have responsibilities that would make it difficult to plan a trip without a return date.

We did it in 12 day from Sweetgrass/Couts to Tok, AK. Spent a couple extra nights in spots to do some exploring. There is a LOT of Alberta and BC and the Yukon are beautiful.
Now we are planning on another month to six weeks up here.

Don't wait, hitch your wagons and get up here.
