I lived in Charlevoix for 3 years (1979-1981). Beautiful little town. Lots of family money there (Belvedere Club & Chicago Club).

Used to have a USAF radar tracking station near there. My father was stationed there, and I attended high school there. Lots of fond memories.

Well I kinda like a hotel stay once in a while, and the washcloth thing applies pretty much the wame way at home except we have suckier washing machines. Personally I think its a matter of choice and preference... we use our RV a LOT, so a nice hotel weekend would get no complaints in our family, but if there's a really nice campground there, well it might be fun. Having to take two vehicles kinda sucks though. Do whatever your little heart desires Nina!

Just for your entertainment pleasure, I finally made up a
photo album on the site.
However, here is a picture of the hotel that we are thinking
of staying at. Weathervane Terance is in the background.

Hey, I see the lighthouse in the background. Know exactly where that is. Fished from that pier many a time. Not far from there was the Dunes condominium. Had friends who lived there, and I worked there as a teenager.

The radar site was at Bayshore, just up the road. You blink, you passed it!

Be sure to get some fudge at Murdicks. The locals used to call the tourists "fudgies" as the fudge shop was only open during the Summer when they'd all arrive. Town went from about 3000 locals to 30,000.

Hope you have a great trip!
