To Tow or not to Tow That is the question!

Finally, on vacation again. Two weeks off!
I need some advice though.
I live just inside the Michigan/Ohio border. Husband wants to
go up north to Charlevoix Mi for a few days. This trip encompases
300 miles up and 300 miles back. The question is:

Do we drive up there with the car that gets 35-40 miles per gallon
and stay in a hotel for 2 days. Hotel cost:$125.00.
************* OR ****************************
Do we take the F-150 pulling the 26BH and the car.
(The truck is not extended and does not have room for 4)
And camp at the campground for $10.00 per night.

Petro around here right now is running $2.99 - $3.09 per gallon.

WHICH WOULD BE MORE COST EFFICIENT?

Nina

P.S. Not sure how many mpg the truck gets. So feel free to use
an average for a quarter ton truck.

Using 8MPG based on My F150 pulling, it's a cost of 225.00 in fuel at 3.00 per gallon

I'm with Mike. Stick an old couch in the bed of the truck, use some tie-down straps as seat belts and buckle the kids in.

The cost differential is not enough to make me want to stay in a hotel and get someone else'c cooties. I say camp in your own trailer so you know who slept in the bed the night before. We towed our trailer to Gettysburg last weekend, a distance of about 250 miles each way. We only stayed 2 nights and the gas up and back cost more than the two nights in the campground ($39 each night) but it was better than staying in a hotel any day.

Hotel equals lumpy bed, sore back in the morning, kids running in the halls, stinky room....

As Jimmy would say....Math Suks.

Camping.

I travel alot and I stay in hotels all the time, just one night here and there so not feasible to tow trailer although I would much rather sleep in that bed. A guy that I travel with sometimes once asked me, What do you wash first with your wash cloth? What do you wash last with your wash cloth? What do you think the guy before you did? same goes for the towel.
