Topsail Hills

My wife wanted to take the camper on a longer trip this year so we have booked site #67 at Gregory E Moore rv resort in Topsail Hills State Park. Looking forward to this trip and the Florida sunshine in April. Anybody stayed there before and have good suggestions of local activities?

Topsail has a great beach (almost private). Good area for cycling. Route 30A has a long bike path. Lots of great food from Panama City to Destin. Good golf courses in the area. And, of course, shopping.

We have driven into Topsail, very nice sites, has beach plus swimming pool, we usually stay at Grafton Beach S.P. on 30A. That area has a lot to do, bike trail along 30A . Seaside is a fun place to see and has shops, eating , culture and more. The movie Truman with Jim Carey was set there. One of my favorite places on 30A. Not sure how long you plan to be, but you won't be bored. If you go in Destin, McGuire's Irish Pub restaurant is a gotta go place. We get there every year. Have fun !

Tn2travel, you will love Grayton Beach SP, not sure when you were there last, but they have two different camping areas the old section and the newer section that has full hookups. There are plenty of eating places at Seaside, they even have some small Airstreams set up as food trucks around the main town square. If you are into good pizza there is great place next to the Public grocery store in Seaside. Depending your price range and taste, Bud and Alleys is a nice place too . But there are so many and you will see them all. A interesting place in the town of Grayton is the Red Bar, they have entertainment at different times. Hope you have a good time, we will be there in Mar.

We're planning a trip to the Emerald Coast for June 2016. Are thinking about either Henderson State Park, Grayton State SP, Top Sail SP or St. Andrews SP.

For those that are familiar, is there a 'best' one you'd recommend. Our son will be 6 by then and we'll probably stay for 4 days or so. We'll be in a Pop Up so shade would be nice.

Is 4 days enough you think? Too little, too much. Would probably try to get in some excursions while we're there (Pirate ship touts, Dolphin swims, that sort of thing).

Snorkeling from the beach would be fun too. Apparently St. Andrews is great for that.

Any input appreciated. Thanks!

Boondoggled my best piece of advice is to book early. Headed back to the gulf coast for spring break next year and wanted Grayton or Henderson but both were full and I finally found a spot at Topsail. Wanted my reservation through April 2nd and checked on May 3 to find many places full. Florida state parks take reservations 11 months out. May be a bit easier in June (no spring breakers) but I would book as soon as possible. I really liked Grayton except a little farther from the beach than ideal.
