understanding campsite descriptions.

recently made some reservations at kenlake state park. space description listed site as 10' wide. is that the total site or the pad width. can anybody help clear this up for me? still new to the reservation system, and all help appreciated.

Holy Toledo! They couldn't possibly have sites only 10' wide, could they?

I don't know how IL describes their sites but here in MO the width listed is the width of the pad not the site. I would certainly hope that this is the case at Kenlake. Ten feet wouldn't leave enough room for a sllideout, much less the camper's awning.

If you look at the pics they provide, it would be the pad size as there is a picnic table off from the pad and power off to the right at the rear.

I just realized that Kenlake state park isn't in IL.

new to all this (reserving campsite). i saw the pics and they looked wider than 10 ft, but wondered mostly why they would list site as 10 wide. i hope the roads are a bit wider to help with the backing in, altho i wouldnt be surprised to find them 'standard' size for a state park. we shall see

i called, and was informed that if my slides touched the neighbors slides, i would have to retract them. i asked about trees being a side clearance issue and was told the trees could not be moved.

If you use the Reserve America website for reservations at the park you can see photos of each site. Click on the picture of the campsite to make it larger. This will give you a general idea if the site you want has enough room for your rig.

I can understand the trees could not be moved part, but what you have Said about this park, I wonder just how friendly they are.
