US 50 in Colorado

Hey Campers,
Does anyone know if US 50 from Montrose, CO to Canon City, CO a dangerous drive in a 34' motorhome with no toad? I know it's scenic but is it too much trouble to enjoy.
Thanks

It is scenic. It isn't dangerous unless you are looking at the scenery instead of driving. In the winter, that could change on short notice.

Recommend stopping at the newly re-opened Royal Gorge Bridge.

I want to correct myself. Since you said "no toad", you might want to avoid the road up to Royal Gorge. Definitely do NOT turn off on Skyline Drive in Canyon City.

If you like wine, stop at the Abbey and do some wine tasting. We visit Canon City quite a bit and always stop in there. You can also ride the Royal Gorge train. We met the owner at the Abbey and chatted with him a while. When we rode the train he stopped by to say Hi and comped us a bottle of wine.
