West to East Fall Road Trip

We are thinking of taking US20 across the country, starting in ND, to Michigan. Any suggestions of routes, places to stay or see or concerns we should consider? We will be leaving ND early September

Are you talking about Route 2? We went east to west on Rte 2, through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, Wisconsin, Minnesota and ND. We often camp without hookups so my suggestions may not appeal to you. If you live in ND., then you already know about TRNP. We stayed at both campgrounds and loved them. Other campgrounds we loved were Two Lakes near Drummond Wisc. in a National Forest and Bay View Campground on Lake Superior in the UP of Michigan. This is also in a NF. with sites along the shore.

We really liked Rte 2. Mostly 2 lanes but it moves with frequent passing lanes
