In St. Augustine the KOA you are right on top of each other. We preferred Anastasia State Park and they have a Lighthouse!! You don't get sewer and it might be just electric, I don't remember, it was a few years ago and it was only for a few days. But it's right on a beach and we loved it!!

In St. Augustine check out Pellicer Creek Campground. No tenting or public facilities so you must be self-contained but it was very nice and quiet, off the beaten path.

North Beach is nutso on $$$$.
Listen to others here....go south or stay north until after Daytona 500 AND Bike Week. Book around and come back. Use them wheels!!

Even if you get in a major place the Daytona spectators or motorcycles will drive you crazy.

Believe the posters!! I went to Bike Week for 14 years in a row. Stayed on a friends property in Ormond Beach. Would NEVER go there without a specific purpose in mind during those times.

VERY, VERY, unlikely you would get into a state park. They book up to 1 year in advance beginning at 12.01am on a specific date. People have friends that book alternate locations because of stay limitations!

Not trying to paint a negative picture but a realistic one.

Good luck!!
