Wisconsin Dells

The DW and I are thinking of visiting the Dells in a couple of weeks. We are more or less looking for a good place to stay for a couple of days. not for the water or theme parks but for the atmosphere. done pigeon forge, branson and most of the other tourist traps already.I was just curious how others would rate the dells compared to the other traps.

It's a HUGE tourist trap. The river boat tours are well worth it, however. The rest is pretty much....fluff.

My trailer was parked at Holiday Inn. We didn't camp...on account they were all full up where we wanted to stay.

On another note....much better scenery and campgrounds in (not too far a side trip) to DOOR COUNTY on the Door Peninsula. Waaaaaaay cool up there.
Much better than the Dells...IMHO. The Dells really are worth doing though.
Have fun!

retiredarmycwo. not a stupid question, Its built chevy tough. As you can see I have amended my signature. My TV fell far from grace a month ago with a trans which after 30 miles of pulling the TT on the interstate would shift to 2nd gear and not upshift again till after several hours of cooldown time. This P'd me off bad enough to remove it from all of my sigs and contemplate making it a permanent yard ornament. I replaced the pcm and It,s back on the road again.
as for the Dell's sounds like the Dells or the Doors will work. I like pretty scenery and Fluff.
Thanks. I've never felt a trip was wasted as long as I'm camping.

Glad to hear you like your Chevy. I'll stick with my Ford though. It's a lot of trailer for that 4.3, but I am glad to hear you have had very few issues doing that.
