We will pick up a space heater Thursday night and Friday we are on our way. We know it is cold, snow and hard to find a campground with electric & sewer.
I am looking at a KOA near the East Gate.
We will be there for three days then we have to move on. Our goal is to go from the east coast to the west coast and back.
Some things will be hard but out of it all we will have said we did it. I want our kids to do the same. Everyone has been a big help and thank you for your replies!

I think as long as you are prepared for it, it will work out!...in the park there is no option for you with elect and sewer.....the parks just outside are nice, but just mean a REAL long drive to some parts of the park. You can for sure experience LOTS in 3 days!!..enjoy!

Uph! 50 yards from a Grizzly is close. What were the circumstances, hiking or in your car?

Actually both...!..we had been hiking and I saw it (thought it was an elk) as I got back to my truck....we loaded up and drove back down the road a bit and there he was...about 50yards away and moving our direction...!!..it was only a few minutes after that several rangers and a trooper showed up to watch him....and then subsequently a crowd of people trying to see also...the ranger was making everone move out as the bear was coming towards the road....
