If you can find a spot inside the park it would be worth it. I made the trip from fishing bridge, to Cody, two days in a row, to finish truck deal. It was two hrs. One way. There was a nice camp ground just outside YNP,south entrance, before Tetons, can't recall the name, sorry, but it was fairly close. There were also several, smaller cg's between Cody and YNP, might cut 30-40 min from commute. Seems most attractions, were west of fishing bridge,so..... more driving.
Great trip though ! Enjoy !

Just got back - stayed at Grizzly RV Park on West Yellowstone (one of the nicest sites we've stayed in.... Only about 1.5 miles from West Entrance to the park....

Also stayed in park at Bridge Bay (generator/dump site) loved it because of wildlife that came through CG

Also stayed at Flagg Ranch and Colter Bay which were both great...

All of these take reservations....

how do you guys get away with parking at bridger bay with a 5th wheel. even their large, 40ft spots will not work if you have a 30' 5th wheel. this is what it says....

- RV/Vehicle combination, 40' total length or less
and either
- One large tent, 12'x12' or smaller or two small tents, each 8'x8' or smaller
- This is a single-width site. The total extended length of all vehicles and towed/towing equipment cannot exceed 40 feet

I just got back from Bridge Bay and I was in a 40' MH pulling a car..... I had a pull-thru in the upper portion of the CG and there were lots and lots of 5th wheels all over the CG....

my 5th wheel and crew cab short box pickup measure 47 feet when hooked up. on the reservation website, they seem pretty strict about "TOTAL vehicle length." what are you guys' thoughts?

I called and they found me a site... There were actually more available.... If you call, they will get you in...
