1st RV - North Alabama

Hey, just wanted to check in and say we recently just purchased our first rv, a 2012 Sandpiper 365SAQ. We were able to find a great deal on it from another individual and have absolutely loved it so far! Having 4 kids and usually other friends of theirs the bunkhouse is a great option for us. I am loving the forum and all the info available on it, a huge thanks to everyone out there! Anyone else on here from the North Alabama - Shoals area?

Hello ! Glad to hear about your new RV!! How often do you camp? We love pictures here. If you haven't started with any maintenance checks, I would start with those bearings. For the first time I would do a complete visual inspection (remove, clean, inspect, and repack). It will require the inner seal replacement. after that most bearings will just need a little shot of grease now and then. You can inspect those brake linings also while your doing the bearings. Remember no mods without pictures. Just ask any question were bound to give you some great advise. Welcome and "Stay Thirsty"...

It's fun being new at something huh? We too are loving the RV and looking forward to years of adventure. And I'm very glad to have stumbled into this forum. Already learned a bunch about holding tanks, leveling, and even located my TV antenna booster thanks to info found here.....

Congratulations on your "new" Sandpiper! A lot of people come though the CG where we're seasonal with "pipers" and they love them

We are loving it so far! I have started with some minor maintenance but thank goodness the guy we bought it from was very much a type A personality so he stayed up to date on everything. I am looking it all over real close and updating the maintenance records though just so I will know when everything was last done. We try and get out at least one weekend a month if not two. With 4 kids it's not always easy coordinating schedules! Thanks

Often getting a good recent used unit is better than a new one because someone has already taken the time and pain to get the "annoyances" taken care of.
