1st Time 5er

Hello,

We pulled the trigger and are moving from TT to 5th Wheel. Columbus RS arrives in three weeks. My DW I love to camp with the six dogs. We are out of W. NC.

Question: The GVWR of the Columbus is 14K. I am looking at the Superglide 16K, but the dealer is suggestion the 20K. Your thoughts? Also, is the lift kit a good idea out of the gate. We are going to use the super rails.

Best,
Grateful (Veteran)

I would have no issue with a 16k hitch- especially the SuperGlide. It's a nice hitch!

I found that with my 3300 with rails worked 99% of the time. The 1% caused some damage in a turn while descending into a steep campground. I also could not use my hard cover (not enough room) so I had to buy a soft cover.

I just bought the 3 inch kit and plan on using it this year so I can put my hard cover back on.

Congrats on moving up to the fifth wheel...you'll ask yourself why I waited so long!
16K Super glide will be fine for that rig...make sure to browse the web for the best price on that hitch...how I found a great deal on ours...Enjoy!

If you use the Reese Revolution, you can use the hard cover even while towing. I've even seen one.

check out www.hitchanything.com. I got a great deal on a Curt 16k a few weeks ago. They are on sale right now and free shipping.
