Unhappy 2013 Wildcat Maxx Trailer Cap Discoloration

New to this site and wanted to get some advice on how to deal with cap discoloration on our trailer. Forest River Rep at RV show advised our vin # may fall within number of trailers that received inferior paint job on caps but told today that ours doesn't but pics sure show otherwise. My husband is obsessive about keeping the trailer cleaned and polished so it's not from neglect. Am not impressed that we spent all this money on trailer and now it looks terrible. Been reading online reviews on how Forest River isn't overly helpful to their customers who experience problems so was wondering how we may resolve this ourselves and what products work. I've read that repainting the cap only lasts temporarily. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
