2018 1/2 Riverstone 39FBRK

Does anyone out there have a 39RKFB? We just towed our new one from Tampa, Florida to Rhode Island. My kitchen every day when we came back in here from traveling looked like it was ransacked! 2 glass pie dishes fell to the floor. Can goods and other things jumped out of sides in pantry and were all down the sides of drawers. Metal sliders for wooden drawers in pantry were all twisted. They put one screw in metal brackets when it has holes for three screws. Corning Ware dishe broke in so many pieces right on the shelf.Even the refrigerator shelves pulled out and twisted. Everything in refrigerator moved all around and I had the door locked on the refrigertor. We had to open it very cautiously because everything was ready to come out at us! Afraid to travel back to Florida! I have a demon in that RV!!! Does any one out there have this problem?

Rear kitchen units are very problematic with jumbled contents....the roughest part of a ride back there

We packed all breakables in lower cabinets - velcro them all shut as well

Lots of bounce back there

I agree, I have always heard the rear kitchens suffer from bouncing so much, that is what kept us away from them. Good luck and hope you find a solution.

I have a silverback 2014 31RK with over 10000 miles towing on all sorts of roads with NO broken dishes... yes, a rear kitchen, but much smaller than yours so take my story with that disclaimer.

I found that when we get excessive bounce on the rear or on the pin, I usually am off on the pin weight - rearrange things and it gets better. My trailer likes a lot of pin weight. I measured it once and was at 2500 pounds... At 12300 trailer weight that is 20%... Not sure what it is now.

Second thing that made an improvement was a new truck. We went from a 2014 ram 3500 Big Horn with after market hitch installed to a 2018 ram 3500 Laramie with factory 5th wheel prep. Holy moly what a difference. Been on 4 trips so far and had no issues with bounce or chucking... Last trip we towed home 90 miles from northern NH to southern NH to find the toilet seat still up and water in the bowl but NOT on the floor. That was a cool mistake that hopefully we won't make again.

With all that said, my DW is very careful with packing. All cabinet doors have latches on them while towing. All glass dishes and bowls have protector things between them. Glass plate comes out of microwave and wrapped. You get the point.
