Welcome from Colorado! We love your Diamond Package colors! :-)

We are, also, very fond of our state parks and prefer them over the civilian places which, it seems, look a LOT different in person than on-line!

Concerning those long storage areas, we keep things that aren't used very much like our emergency road kit, extra wood and chalks...and it's a great spot to protect fishing poles. (Ours has a door on the outside, too.)

Since most of our dishes are plastic, we just put a handful of empty plastic grocery store bags the cabinets to prevent a lot of sliding around. (With two dogs, you can't have too many plastic bags around!!!)

When does the weather get below freezing in NC? We already have upper-20's at night here in the high country.

Not for another month or so. Matter of fact although our high today is 64, it was 60 when I left for work this morning. It'll be in the high 70's later this week. By December it'll be below freezing just about everyday. I think the plan is to continue using it throughout the winter though. It snows so rarely here that there isn't much stopping us.

Colorado is on my list of places to visit. I have some friends and family there but haven't made it out there ever, and really want to. It's absolutely gorgeous there.

We're in Waxhaw. Would love some opinions on camping here in NC, preferably in the mountains.

Sorry, no help here. We've only camped at Thousand Trails in Mocksville, NC. Most of our camping is in FL and other states.

Mountains are great but most cgs closed winter months. We are in Monroe and use Cane Creek or Andrew Jackson St. Park for quick weekend camping. We are hoping to go Thanksgiving weekend to one or the other.
