abbreviations
Is there a listing that explains some of the abbreviations used in this forum? I get some of the more obvious ones, like TT (travel trailer), 5er (fifth wheel), etc. But others are a mystery (DH, DW, etc.). Something like this may help those that are new to camping and/ or this forum.

That about covered most of them. Didn't see "PMS" which has nothing to do with the DW.... Well....there are times. "PMS" = Power Management System. Used on some RV's or TT's that are capable of running dual A/C on 30 amp service.

Like you , when I first joined the forum everyone was talking about traveling with DW. I could not understand when weight is an issue why they were hauling "dead weight"!!

Scrapper, since you made a pdf out of it, would you care if I add it to the library?

Fine with me, I had though about it but was not sure what section to upload it. When I first became a member I too had no idea what they meant.

Towed not Toad
Not sure if I should open up this can of worms but.. It's meant in fun (I guess//suppose) so here goes..
I have been camping/RVing since I was a kid when my dad dragged me along. I have done just about every kind of camping there is in the last 40 + years. I have owned 3 Class-C MHs, 1 Class-A, a couple of Travels Trailers towed behind full sized vans & pick up trucks.I have even towed a small van on a tow dolly a couple of times behind my first Class-C I have in the past towed many other kinds of trailers too.
I never heard the word "Toad" used to described a towed vehicle before coming onto this forum, Never--Ever.. I guess it's just me but every time I see the word "Toad" the photo below comes to mind. I wonder where, how and when the word "Toad" came to mean something completely un-related to the cute little critter in the photo?

Toad is commonly used for a towed car, on the 7 differenr RV forums I've belonged to, for the past 15 years.

I can assure you that the TOAD term is in a lot more widespread use than just here. FMCA even has an entire subsection of their forums named TOADS, as copied below:
Toads-Towed Behind Motorhome
Discuss everything related to towing a vehicle behind a motorhome. Equipment, braking, laws, vehicles approved for towing four wheels down.
You can just easily google the term 'RV Toad" and you will see it is in widespread use.
As far as the origins, I have no idea.

Towed not Toad
I have to admit that even though I have been RVing for 40 + years Forums are new to me. Computers are not but until recently I just never thought or care much about these forums. I came onto this one because I wanted some in-site on Dynamax MHs from folks who have them. Thanks for feed back.
