we got lucky and had a good walk through. plus not being total new to travel trailers (parents owned a few) The route from where we picked up our tt to our home had a free camp ground with full hooks ups owned by Harris county. we pulled the trailer to the camp ground. proceeded to slowly disconnect and hook the tt. we then ran to the local walmart and picked up essentials and longer sewer line. It worked out great as we were only a bout 20 to 30 miles from the dealer as we had to run back to pick up a few things that was forgotten to give us like tv and entertainment system remotes.
Congrats on your new purchase we get lots of questions and compliments on our mini lite

After the driveway adventure, I suggest a overnight at a campground as close to home as possible. This will be your true shakedown (unless you have full hookups at home )

Our RV dealer has a KOA co-located to the dealership and they offer a one night over when you take delivery--that was a Godsend all the little annoyances that were missed in the walkthrough were found that evening and the dealer sent a tech over in a golf cart the next day to fix everything (ergo why we love our dealer

I digress though - seriously, do a overnight at a full hookup campground close to home (and a RV supply ) and you can't go wrong!

Welcome to the forums!

Andiem1, just a few suggestions. Buy a second hose and an extension power cord. I have camped at CGs several times where I needed the extension. Also, if your slide out should not work someday, the fuse is outside under the camper behind the battery in a green plastic case. Carry spare fuses also. They come in handy. We have enjoyed our 2109S.

Welcome, newbies! You chose a good trailer to start with - just big enough to be comfortable and small enough to be maneuverable and to fit into a variety of campsites. We are new to the Mini-Lites too, coming down in size from a 34' Flagstaff, so we'll have a learning curve as well. If your local zoning laws will allow it, Camp Driveway is a good place to start. Once you want to start going a little farther afield, you might look into Fisherman's Memorial State Park in Narragansett. Nice park with both elec/water sites and full-hookup ones. (We were in the EW sites and liked ours just fine - our site # was 31, which had some nice shade.) From the other side of CT you could consider the Newburgh (NY) KOA - lots of nice shady sites there with plenty of space for RVs.

Wow, it's like we're twins!! We got ours just about a year ago, and we also live in eastern CT!!

We first camped at Fishermans Memorial in Point Judith, Rhode Island in April of last year. They have spots with electric and water hook ups. It was a pretty good place to start!!! It was a good place to start. This year we've got a couple of reservations already booked at West Thompson Lake. They also have some spots with electric and water.

Good luck with the mini lite!! We love ours. We've done a few modifications to it. We added shelves to the large wardrobe next to the fridge, and we made a wooden cutting board cover for the stove. We cook almost everything outside on our Webber Q grill, so the stove wasn't used all that much, and we like having the extra counter space.
