And, another new member

Hello all,

We are the proud new owners of a 2013 Rockwood Signature Ultralite, model 8289WS. Currently we are at the KOA in Smithfield, NC. It is raining, hard!

This is our maiden voyage and we are very impressed with this unit. I do have one issue. I cannot get the TV to receive cable. It only gives me channels from the roof top antenna. Is there a switch someplace?

We look forward to spending a lot of time on the road and hope to meet and greet many of you!

Welcome to the forum!

Have you already re-configured the TV through the on-screen menu for cable?

Dave

Also, be sure the booster button is not on. Where the cable goes into the wall (or ceiling in my case), if the booster is on, there's a little green indicator light on.

Welcome and congrats on the new digs!

Two good solutions have been brought out...I had mine hooked up to cable the first time at a KOA Park this summer, finally figured out the television needed to be set right. I did have my booster off. Kinda hard to get things straight when the DW is ready to watch tv and she says, why do you keep going over that? Luckily the next several places we stayed had cable. Hope you get yours fixed..let us know what you have figured out.

Congrats on your new Rockwood & maiden voyage! How are you doing with the suggestions provided? Feel free to let us know if that hasn't take care of the problem. Also RVers are pretty friendly and most are eager to help especially to new owners. Your campsite neighbors are often a great resource to tap into.

Thanks all for the replies. I have it figured out now. There are two cable inputs on the outside of the unit. I plugged into the one on the right - wrong. I moved it to the left one. Also I had to turn off the antenna booster. I was programming the TV's for cable, but the wrong connection on the outside was the root cause of the problem.

Now we have 102 channels! I may never get Renée outside again!

Good to hear that you got it solved.

Perhaps you may want to keep the connection loose and not working 100%.

Tom and Renee welcome. I am originally from Durham (left in 1973).

The other connection is for Satellite TV. It should be marked as such. But we all sometimes the stickers fall off or are not put on.
