Any other Apex Nano owners? Where's bypass valve?
Hi,
We just bought a Coachmen Apex Nano 193BHS. Nice little trailer, but I can not find the bypass valve for the water heater. I'm beginning to wonder if it has one. I've removed all 3 access panels in the bathroom (which is the room closest to the back of the water heater) and no valves.
I couldn't get the water heater to fill with water when I was de-winterizing it, so I assume there's a bypass valve I need to find and switch, but so far I can't find it!
Alan

Welcome to the forum! Congrats from Farmer, N.C. We just purchased ours, so I'm not sure where your valve is or even begin to tell you where to look.Good luck in your search.

ByPass Valve
The bypass valve is under the bunk. There are 3 valves for the Hot Water Heater. We just got our last year and I only winterized ours for the first time this last fall. Also to winterize the camper, you can buy a connector at Lowes for to connect a section of hose to the pump and suction antifreeze from the jug. I used more antifreeze than I probably needed, but hopefully I did it correctly. Will find out in a couple months.

Bypass Valve on Apex 193BHS
Thank you for creating this thread. I have the 2018 model of the Apex Nano 193BHS as well and I have not been able to find the bypass valve. There is not an access door that I am seeing under the bunk unfortunately. The circuit break box is underneath the bunks on the inside of the trailer, but there is not any other access panel. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!!

How about looking near where your water heater is?
And.....

Actually this thread should be in the Coachmen sub-forum, since it's about a specific Coachmen model.
If the OP says yes, I can move it there.

Have you look under the lower bunk mattress for an access panel?

Yay!
We bought our Apex Nano 193BHS last summer as well.
The bypass valve is underneath the bottom bunk. There was a single screw holding down the plywood which we unscrewed, and lifted up. All of the electrical and plumbing is under that panel.
I can post pics if you like.

Under the bunk mattress
Thank you for responding!! I will take a look and respond to this thread either here or if it's moved, to the specific area under the model it is moved to.

Bypass valve
I was able to access the bypass valve. It is located behind the water heater and is accessible inside the trailer. You have to lift up the mattress of the bottom bunk and remove the bottom bunk board, which is a long piece of plywood. On my trailer the length of the bunk is supported by two long 1 foot by 6 foot pieces of plywood (approximately). The piece of plywood that was next to the exterior wall was secured with screws and the one towards the inside of the trailer was not secured. You can lift this piece up and then crawl back towards the water heater to access the bypass valves. I will try to post pictures later. Thanks for your help everyone!!

Wow I'm kinda surprised your dealer didn't tell you this/where the water heater was BUT now that I think back we had to insist our's get a screwdriver and show us this. Has anyone installed a bypass thing to make it easy to winterize (so it easily pulls liquid from the jug)... our old camper had this and it was sweet! Kinda stinks to do work under the bunk, not easy at all :-(
